That permissions repair on 10.4 only takes a few minutes. Select your hard drive, and click the Repair Disk Permissions button. After that all completes, open /Applications/Utilities. Download and install the 10.4.11 combined updater, which I already mentioned. Suggestion - before trying a different client, do 2 steps. Or google for Mac ftp clients for OS X 10.4 Transmit (you need version 3 to use on 10.4 )Ĭyberduck (free!) (doesn't support 10.4, but you can download vers 3.2.1, which DOES support 10.4)
I suggest that you be sure that you have a fresh restart before you install that updater, as it will "touch" a large part of your system as part of its job.
